Product Description

William's E Medium was originally developed by Williams and Gunn as reduced serum-supplemented medium for long-term cell culture of adult rat liver epithelial cells. It can also be used for growing mammalian stem cells of various species. This product contains 2000 mg/L glucose, 50 mg/L glycine and 25 mg/L sodium pyruvate; phenol red, L-glutamine or HEPES is not contained in this product. Since this medium does not consist of any proteins or growth factors, therefore, 5-10% FBS is supplemented when using this medium. Since this medium contains 2.2 g/L sodium bicarbonate, this product must be used under environment with 5-10% CO2 present. When using this product, it is recommended to use Williams E Medium Supplement Kit (Catalog No. S547) along with the medium.
